You're Not a Bad Man, Are You?

Today, I interviewed Ron Royster. Ron lives on a farm in rural North Carolina. He looks a little like Meatloaf. He is also a porn director. When I asked him about working with Justine Joli, he said: "She is a pat of butter in a sea of grits." When I asked him what he thought of the kind of bukkake-centric, extreme porn directed by Jim Powers and Max Hardcore, he said: "I'm a vegetarian." He, himself, he said, had been described as the "Greenpeace of porn." In the end, I told him to answer one question in one sentence. "Why do you make porn?" Ron told me: "Wow. That's a deep question." Then, he gave me the answer that I was expecting from this self-described feminist pornographer who says that his experiences in Porn Valley are akin to being a Black man at a KKK rally. "Because," he said, after careful consideration, "I love women."
