The Bunny Dip

Doing some research, I came across this photo of Gloria Steinem working undercover as a cocktail waitress at the New York Playboy Club in 1962. She looks happy here, doesn't she? Or maybe a little sad. Because of the angle of the photo, one must imagine how the bunny tail looked affixed to her ass. Or, for that matter, how she felt weaving through the sea of men who surely grabbed at her like flailing octopi. Oh, Gloria, we hardly know thee. See also: "I Was a Playboy Bunny."
The Playboy Bunny outfit was the first service uniform registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (U.S. trademark registration number 0762884). The tight costume forced servers to bend at the knees, not the waist, when serving drinks; this maneuver became known as the "Bunny Dip." -- The Playboy Bunny
