Feminism Is Dead. All Hail Postfeminism.

The New York Times reports some chick in Germany has written a bestselling book about a woman who ends up in the hospital after a tragic vagina shaving incident, explores her hemorrhoids by way of anal intercourse, and possibly has sex with an avocado pit.

"With her jaunty dissection of the sex life and the private grooming habits of the novel’s 18-year-old narrator, Helen Memel, [author Charlotte] Roche has turned the previously unspeakable into the national conversation in Germany. Since its debut in February, ['Wetlands'] ('Feuchtgebiete,' in German) has sold more than 680,000 copies, becoming the only German book to top Amazon.com’s global best-seller list."

Apparently, the whole country is up in arms over the thing. The feminists are grousing, postfeminists are raving, and some lady supposedly fainted. Some say it's empowering, some say it isn't, and the Times reminds that "Sex and the City" has made, like, a billion dollars.

In conclusion, women are the new perverts.

Maybe now that the wicked witch is dead, America can start publishing books about sex again.
